The financial sector, comprising the Allied Bank And Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited, the Bankers Association, and the Bahamas Central Bank , recognizes the potential negative impact that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic could have on our country and recommends that their customers follow the guidelines below, wherever possible, to minimize the spread of this disease;
- Use online banking and mobile banking platforms to make and receive payments.
- Use ATMs to deposit and withdraw cash.
- Use debit and credit cards to avoid handling physical cash directly.
- Use digitale platforms (teleconferencing, videoconferencing, emails) to conduct business.
- Conduct your banking over the phone or email.
- Avoid using and handling physical cash and cheques.
- Pratice vigorous hand hygiene if you must handle cash.
Note that financial institutions will be putting the following measures into effect;
- Sanitize ATMs frequently.
- Manage customer waiting line (limit the number of customers to practice social distancing)
- Provide hand sanitizers at all of their branches and customer facing locations.
